In just four years, Student Success, has become a viable resource for JSU students and K-12 students in the Metro Jackson area. After being awarded more than $9 million in grants for six new programs and one continuing program in 2022, Student Success, now emcompasses thirteen support offices with the largest being our University Academic Advisement Center.

The University Academic Advising Center (UAAC) is here to guide you through your academic journey. The UAAC’s Academic Advisors provides academic guidance and related services to students with 0-59 credits (Freshman and Sophomore classifications).
THEE Pathway General Education Program is a customizable academic experience that promotes critical thinking, math/analytical reasoning, and communication. All degree programs at Jackson State University include a general education curriculum.
The JSU Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRiO program authorized by the U.S. Department of Education which provides support for first generation, income-restricted, and/or disabled scholars in an effort to increase participants’ persistence from one year to the next. SSS ultimately aims to provide a holistic and supportive environment designed to enhance student success.
The TRiO Upward Bound Programs are free college preparatory programs for high school students funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored locally by Jackson State University. Upward Bound is designed to provide participants the skills and motivation necessary to navigate and complete a program of secondary education and to enter and succeed in a program of post-secondary education.
